‘Rastas’ By Sarah Ward

Recently we had two friends, Shirley and Philma, volunteer to come to our house and fix my hair in rastas. It took 5 HOURS! I had four people pulling on my hair at once. It hurt!Β  We had fun talking and laughing together, though.IMG_0045

It took two days to take them out! Afterwards, my hair was VERY puffy and wavy.

  1. Super job with the writing, Sarah! We loved the pictures! That was an all-day experience and quite fun, I imagine. Thanks for telling us about it. Love you, Grandmom

  2. Wow! Great writing job, Miss Sarah!! I felt like I was right there through the braiding process, wearing them and taking them out. Your friends Shirley and Philma are quite the artists. Bet it felt good to wash your hair after a while (& massage your scalp!). Way back when, I had a few braids with beads/corn rows done in Jamaica. I left them in couple weeks. Almost as much time taking them out as it was putting them in, but they were fun. I recall just washing my hair with braids like I normally would (braids, beads and all). Do you think you and Gracie will try it again? How abt Jenny? I think Jonathan would look cool with cornrows πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ We love all the photos and accompanying stories . Keep them coming. Love and miss you all. πŸ˜˜πŸ€—πŸ˜πŸ’žπŸ’‡β€β™€οΈπŸ’†β€β™€οΈ
Happy Early Birthday and Mother’s Day with lots of love to your Mom. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸŽπŸŽˆπŸŽŠ
